Join local lei maker Kahi Barrett Keyes and Pu'uhonua Society for a four-class short course exploring lei haku, a traditional three-ply braiding technique. Meeting every other week, this series builds skills progressively beyond a one-time workshop. Haumāna will learn technique, preparation, practice, and gathering considerations with cultural context woven throughout. The course includes 8 hours of instruction. Haumāna will be guided in sourcing their own plant materials; no materials are needed for the first class.

Workshop Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a ticket, registering for, or attending any workshop, class, or event offered by Kaleipuupuu, LLC, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility

Workshops are intended for participants 18 years of age or older. Minors are not permitted unless explicitly stated in writing for a specific event.

2. Registration & Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
  • Space is limited and registration is confirmed only after payment is received.
  • Workshop details, pricing, and schedules may change prior to registration.

3. Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers

  • Refund, cancellation, and transfer policies may vary by workshop and will be listed on the event page.
  • Unless otherwise stated, all sales are final.
  • Cancellation requests made more than 7 days before the workshop date must be submitted in writing to kahi@kaleipuupuu.com and are eligible for store credit only.
  • Cancellation requests made within 7 days of the workshop may be submitted in writing; however, refunds are not available and store credit is not guaranteed, unless the spot can be filled from a waitlist.
  • No refunds or store credit will be issued for no-shows or early departures.
  • Kaleipuupuu, LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances (including low enrollment, instructor illness, or venue issues). In such cases, participants will be offered a refund.

4. Attendance & Participation

  • Participants are responsible for arriving on time and ready to participate.
  • Late arrivals may miss instruction or materials; refunds will not be provided for missed content.
  • Participants agree to follow all safety instructions and workshop guidelines provided by the instructor.
  • Kaleipuupuu, LLC reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful, without refund.

5. Materials & Tools

  • Materials and tools are provided unless otherwise noted in the workshop description.
  • Materials may vary based on availability and seasonality.
  • Participants agree to use all tools and materials carefully and as instructed.
  • Materials may not be taken from the workshop unless explicitly included as part of the class.

6. Health, Allergies & Safety

  • Participants are responsible for managing their own health conditions, allergies, or sensitivities.
  • Workshops may involve plant materials, flowers, foliage, and tools that could cause irritation or injury if not handled properly.
  • Kaleipuupuu, LLC does not provide medical advice or medical care during workshops.

7. Liability Waiver

Participation in any workshop requires agreement to Kaleipuupuu, LLC’s Liability Waiver, Release, and Participation Agreement, which must be completed prior to attendance. Failure to complete the waiver may result in denied participation without refund.

8. Photography & Media

  • Workshops may be photographed or recorded for educational or promotional purposes.
  • Participants may opt out of being photographed by notifying the instructor before the workshop begins.
  • Kaleipuupuu, LLC will make reasonable efforts to honor opt-out requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from group or background images.

9. Intellectual Property

All workshop content, instruction, demonstrations, and materials are the intellectual property of Kaleipuupuu, LLC and may not be recorded, reproduced, or shared without prior written permission.

10. Personal Property

Kaleipuupuu, LLC and venue partners are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings brought to the workshop.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or attending a workshop, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
